Once Upon a Tie

Posted by on March 5, 2009

Neckties have been with us for at least as far back as the Quinn Dynasty, some 2000 years ago.

For a today’s man, a tie when paired with a well-fitting suit and dress shirt provides a way to display his individuality and good taste.

BUT how to account for the continued popularity of the Fat Tie amongst the preschool/elementary crowd? As long as world and business leaders continue to wear neckties, the young, hipster geniuses will follow suit and neckties will remain a key to the boardroom, or eh hem, the playground. On the other hand, there does seem to be some aesthetic value in wearing a fresh and funky Fat Tie.

Just look at these cuties in the picture above. They look even better in ties than any business executive! They may not be carrying a briefcase of chatting on their Mobile phone, like grown up business men, but they know how to make a tie look good! That’s what matters when you’re only little anyway. Why not wear your favorite tie in the classroom or on the monkey bars?

It seems that the first question fashion writers always ask is, “Will men’s neckties be wider or narrower this year?”  Nooooooo, they will always be FAT.

I also saw “fat tie” shirts in American Baby Magazine. So hip and cute for the young fellas. Love the style so much for 4 year old Noah – thinking nephew Carson would like one too!

I love these shirts! Any chance they come in 18 months?
